FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 10, 2003
TriMarine has completed a major investment in refitting, modernizing and recommissioning two of its super seiners at the ASMAR shipyard in Talcahuano, Chile.
In a ceremony at the shipyard on July 11, 2003 Elizabeth Curto, daughter of TriMarine's chairman Mr. Renato Curto, rechristened the 1800 cubic meter capacity American flag tuna purse seiner CAPE ELIZABETH.
The CAPE HATTERAS was recommissioned on October 24, 2003 by Mrs. Anna Bella Perotti, wife of Mr. Giansandro Perotti, president of Eurofish, C.A. These sister vessels were originally built in 1982 at Peterson Boat in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. In 1998 they were 'stretched' at Singapore Marine. They presently are fishing in the Western and Central Pacific from their operating base in Pago Pago, American Samoa.
