Alfonso Beitia was born on January 3, 1964 in Bilbao, Spain. After completing his elementary and high school education at the Agustinos Catholic School in Bilbao, he obtained a degree in Law and Economy at the Loyola University of Deusto in 1988. He specialized in international trading at the Bilbao Chamber of Commerce and obtained a MBA in 1995 at the University Commercial also in Deusto.
After one year in the army and a brief experience working in a bank he started working in the tuna business in 1990 when he joined the Albacora Group. During 10 years he managed different areas of responsibility which included an active role in the acquisition of Salica Cannery, where he became member of the board, but mainly focusing on trading. He was Commercial Director until 2001 when he joined Tri Marine.
With the new Millennium he established Tri Marine International, Spain S.L. where he is the Managing Director with responsibility for commercial relationships with boat owners operating in the Atlantic and Indian Oceans and managing the supply of tuna to Tri Marine's customers in Spain, Portugal, Africa and the Middle East.
He is married with Teresa and has 3 children.
